I just returned from a fabulous vacation in Montana’s Glacier National Park. I usually schedule my vacation trips around areas where I can find inspiration for my art. This trip was no exception as you can see in the pictures below.
Lake McDonald was definitely worth the 4 day round trip drive. However, the best pebbles and glacial crystal clear water I found in the river feeding the lake, the McDonald Creek.
The natural beauty of Montana really filled my soul with awe and inspiration. I’m very eager to further develop my passion for rocks and water through a new series and perhaps even a different medium as well. However, I first need to finish my current commission. Below is a progress image of the 24" x 48" canvas that I hope to complete by the end of the month.

So glad you enjoyed you vacation. Montana is beautiful and Glacier is spectacular! I see you have your reference photos for future paintings. They are interesting and I can’t wait to see them. :)

Wow. Wish I could’ve been there. I accompanied my aunt, uncle, and cousins out West in ‘60. However, we went via Rt.66 to L.A. and returned so we hit Yellowstone. The water and peebles along with Kodachrome 25 or 64 would have really been great. I’m glad y’all enjoyed it and look forward to seeing what results from your photos.
Peace and blessings,
Hugh

Hi Ester
Wow awe inspiring. This is the first time I have seen the photographs which you work from
and it has given me an idea. I love coloured glass and the shadows, reflections and distortions
that come from these when the sun is shining. My mum in law just bought me a blue glass
starfish paperweight which sits on the sunny kitchen window sill. I cannot wait until tomorrow,
or should I say for the sun to shine, so that I can capture it in a photograph. Luckily we have
had a lovely run of hot 25-30c weather and loads of sun so heres hoping. Thanks Ester.

I can’t wait to see what you develop from this trip. Thanks again for your workshop. I’m still working on the canvas of my sea she’ll bowl, but a, close to finished. I started another using the neo color II crayons and colored pencil and it is going well. I really appreciated seeing how you work.

Your work is absolutely amazing. I am 69 years of age and only this year, in retirement have joined an art class and am loving it. My daughter told me about you, she is working in Houston Tx for 3 years and also a budding artist. Cheers from Adelaide, South Australia.
