Published in CREATIV Magazine

I'm thrilled that my artwork 'Everlasting' has been published in CREATIV, a magazine that celebrates creativity in art, innovation, culture, and adventure from around the world. This is a first class, glossy magazine with unforgettable pictures and articles.

My artwork 'Everlasting' has a beautiful two page spread in the May issue which came out today.

CREATIV has received the honor to take a ride on my studio swing, something I only reserve for 'special guests'.

Glad to Be Back!

After my husband's emergency surgery before Christmas, we both came down with a serious case of the flu. I'm very happy and relieved that we are finally doing well. Now I'm ready to get serious about my art again.

Below are the highlights of the last six weeks.

I wanted to challenge myself and started my largest piece so far, a 40”x 60” canvas. It’s my first tribute to Montana's Glacier National Park, specifically the McDonald Creek. I'm very excited about it!

My Facebook page was listed as one of Ten Facebook Pages about Art in 2014 on Making a Mark, Katherine Tyrrell's amazing blog.

My art was being copied and sold illegally as ‘original oil paintings’ by a company in South East Asia. I'm happy to report that, after contacting them, they immediately stopped selling the copies and profusely apologized for neglecting to verify the authenticity of some of their products.

I'm almost finished with my current piece and will post an image as soon as I get it scanned. It's called "After the Rain".

Included in a New Book by Katherine Tyrrell

Renowned UK artist and blogger, Katherine Tyrrell, has a book coming out on January 1st, 2015. It comes in three different versions for the UK, USA and Asia, with three different publishers, three different titles and three different covers. However, everything inside is the same, including my contribution (!). Yes, I'm one of the artists included in the book.

The USA version, titled "Drawing 365", is now available for pre-order from Amazon  and North Light Books.

Review on ARCH2O.com

Great news! I had a wonderful article written on Arch2O.com, a website that reviews and critiques architecture, urbanism, art, and design.

The writer, Aiysha Alsane, says: "Ester Roi’s success lies in how she shares her discoveries with an audience: using a unique technique, she helps the audience see an everyday phenomenon in a refined and new light... Her pieces are studies of phenomena she has observed in nature, an interaction of two objects, a solid and fluid, yet her paintings transport the viewer to a different world. I, personally, won’t ever see the union of rocks and water the same again."

My Artwork on the CPSA Banner

CPSA Banner

I have the honor to be one of ten artists whose art is displayed on the new Colored Pencil Society of America corporate banner. This banner is used at NAMTA (National Art Materials Trade Association) and most likely at the CPSA convention location each summer.

My artwork selected is Social Network and you can find it on the bottom, to the left of the caption: "Yes. It's colored pencil".

Congratulations to the other nine artists who have been chosen as CPSA ambassadors on the new banner.

Another Busy Summer Ahead

OC Register

Last Sunday I received great news; I was accepted as an exhibitor at the Art-A-Fair, a Laguna Beach summer festival that will run from June 28 to September 1. In its 47th year, Art-A-Fair welcomes artists from around the world to represent a variety of mediums and techniques in two and three dimensional forms. I'm thrilled to have been invited and look forward to see my collectors, friends and supporters and, of course, to establish many new connections.

Yesterday I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that "Above and Below" is displayed in an online gallery of THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER along with 15 other artworks, in an article on the Art-A-Fair jurying process.

Another important event that will take place this coming summer is the Colored Pencil Society of America 21st Annual Convention in Brea, California. I'm so excited that this year the CPSA convention will take place practically in my own backyard! Their exhibition, a collection of the best colored pencil artwork in the world, is not to be missed.
